This place is a real hidden gem. The food was amazing. They had so many exquisite dishes such as fried gizzard, chicken skin, or chicken clavicle. Please take the chance to try those dishes, they sell out fast and are worth it. The service was top notch. They paid attention the pace we were eating at and never felt rush but just right. Update 10/15/23: I came here with a friend and this place is still the best for Yakitori. We tried a couple new items on the menu, A5 wagyu ribeye and sea urchin tempura. The wagyu melted when we ate it and it was so good. The sea urchin tempura was delicious but I probably will prefer the sashimi dish. It was worth trying. The yuzu sake was so good too. I couldn't even taste the alcohol and could have ordered 10 of these. I'm glad I revisited this amazing spot.

Authentic and delicious yakitori (Japanese bbq), great variety of dishes. Favs were the pork belly and fried oysters. Fast and efficient service, great little place.

One of the best Yakitori places we’ve been to. We used to love going to NYC Japan town for Yakitori skewers but with COVID, we stopped going. This restaurant highly exceeded our expectations of a small restaurant in NJ. All the food was very fresh, cooked to perfection and delicious! Start with sake and finish with a creme brulee! Definitely going back again soon to try out their many other dishes since we only had their skewers and sides (saw on the menu ramen, hotpot, etc).

Asahi draft and hot sake done right. Zenbu oishidesu. Especially beef tung and saba. Try lobster yaki. No lobster yaki. Instead grille beef also very good. Momo, sunagimo, seseri, teba, kawa... all chicken regular and specialty great. Those 45 skewers add up. Pork belly, Gyutan also great. Tried motsunabe. Nice for cold weather hearty soul food. Prefer yakimono. Drinks.. Matcha beer, cold and hot sake reliable. Highball not so much. When soda was hot, readily replaced (gave another) with colder soda. Service is great. Sacho disciplines/trains servers well. Authentic Japanese style. Thank God this place in Teaneck. Otherwise, have to make a trip out to Manhattan.. Yakitori Totto, Torishin, Hagi... Koreans can only flock... popularity of Matsuda-san from 544 (Osaka residents) craves for yakimono. Arigato gozaimasu. KANPAI.

This place has amazing Japanese food - even though the menu is overwhelmingly big (5-6 menus) the food is absolutely delicious and the service is great. They bring your tapas out quick one after another. Food is fresh and HOT! It’s amazing . The atmosphere and the service are great. Also, Yakitori has the BEST chicken wings I have ever tasted in my entire life. And I do eat chicken wings in a lot of different places. You can’t copy the recipe - wings are cooked to perfection nothing less. Just like the sashimi—no kidding the sashimi at this place melts in your mouth!!! I never experienced that before. I Absolutely loved the experience of sashimi here. The restaurant is small, but surprisingly for a typical Japanese restaurant, tables are big enough - it offers a lot of space than other Japanese restaurants I have experienced in the past. The kitchen is out in the open. It’s very clean and you can see the chef and the assistant working together making meals and most importantly washing their hands each and every time . It’s authentic Japanese food. You will see both Japanese servers and clients here...so that tells you it’s going to be a great experience. The food speaks for itself. I truly enjoyed my visit here and will definitely come back again to try other items on their long menu! I highly recommend this restaurant. It’s a hidden !

Underrated, and a must go for Japanese food. Tons of selections for yakitori, sashimi, and ramen. Reservations are recommended if not required.

So, this is a very authentic place. The food is always great, and the atmosphere is just real. It still has a human feel to it because it is local and small, which is why we keep going. Thank so much to the manage (the actual owner), and the staff who brings such a real and loving feel to the eating experience. Food is always amazing...

Omg, the chicken thigh Japanese bbq tastes soooo good, and the atmosphere there is so Japanese, small and makes me feel like home. The asparagus and bacon bbq is also my favorite!! Very lucky to come to this restaurant, very authentic Japanese!!
